Welcome to the Ladies Section of Guildford Hockey Club.

The Ladies Section currently has between 80 – 90 members and runs 4 League teams and one Veterans team.

We are very fortunate to have our own Clubhouse which overlooks an excellent water-based Astroturf pitch, with the added benefit of a high quality sand-dressed Astroturf pitch which runs alongside.

We are always looking to welcome new members at any level as we have a very even spread of abilities across our membership.

Our Ladies 1st X1 play in the South Clubs Women’s Hockey League Division 1 and our 2nd X1 play in the Premier Division of the Surrey Ladies Hockey League. Our 3rd X1 play in Surrey Ladies Hockey League Division 4 and our 4th X1 play in Division 8 of the same League.

All of these teams have their own coaches, led by our Head of Coaching, with the 1st X1 and 2nd X1 training together from 8:00 – 10:00pm on a Wednesday evening, and the 3rd X1 and 4th X1 from 8:00 – 10:00pm on a Monday evening.

Although the Veterans do not train together as a team, they are always welcome at any training session to work on fitness or individual skills. Known as the Fireflies, the veterans play in the South Clubs Women’s Hockey Masters League as well as a variety of friendly matches against other local clubs.

After each home game we invite our opposition and umpires to join us in the clubhouse for a hot meal and a cup of tea or a beverage (or two!) from the bar.

The Ladies section have run Summer Leagues on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for the last 12 years to enable players to keep up their fitness levels before pre-season training starts again in August.

We also run weekly sessions of Rush Hockey for players who want a little bit more!
