Welcome to the Junior Section

Complete your registration form for the 2013/14 season here...

Thank you for registering online using the fillable pdf form. You will need to SIGN the form before you can save any data you have typed into the form. Please note the following:

  • Adobe X (version 10) will ask you to create and use an 'Echosign' account to sign and save (which you can then use if future as well). If you wish to bypass Echosign, follow these instructions.

  • Different pdf readers may act differently. If you are having trouble, upgrade your version of Acrobat Reader to the latest version (10.1.7) - this seems to work better if you are using Acrobat.

  • iPad and other devices may require additional software in order to complete online forms. You may print the form and complete a paper copy - the online form has dropdown boxes with options that you may need to consult online. There is a postal address for paper-based forms in the payment section of the form, or you can bring the completed form to the Clubhouse to training.

  • We appreciate all efforts to pay using BACS as it reduces the amount of work involved. Thank you.

  • Please click for the GHC Junior Registration Form. Complete the form, 'sign' your consent where indicated on the last page, save and email to Junior Registration.

    About our Junior Section...

Guildford Hockey Club run an active and progressive Junior Section developing and inspiring children of all ability levels from 6 to 18 years old. Each squad enjoys a weekly training session during the Autumn and Spring terms; competitive games and festivals throughout the season give all players the opportunity to further develop and enjoy playing hockey. Our main objective is that every child who tries hockey enjoys it and wishes to continue playing and improving.

For children who have the desire, skills, and aptitude to play at a high level, we offer an Elite coaching programme run by the GHC Head of Coaching and Performance Director, Ian Jennings. Ian brings an enormous amount of both domestic and international playing and coaching experience to the Club. Notable of the many successes during the 2012/13 season is the Under 12 boys success in winning the National Championship in addition to one of Europe's top youth tournaments in Barcelona.

Detailed below are the key features of our Junior Section:

  • A documented training program for the season developed in conjunction with Ian Jennings and England Hockey guidelines. This provides clarity and continuity for all age groups in terms of what children should be seeking to achieve each season.

  • The coaching staff, the majority of whom are parents and/or club players, are experienced players and qualified coaches. We maintain a high ratio of coaches to children.

  • Opportunities for the older juniors (Under 14s, 16s and 18s) to pursue coaching and umpiring badges, which can contribute to the Duke of Edinburugh Award curriculum. This also give the younger players positive exposure to the older children who have succeeded in their hockey.

  • Elite training courses (additional charges) are available for children that show potential and are nominated by their coach.

  • Many weekend matches and tournaments for players of all abilities to try out what they are learning in competitive game situations.

  • School Holiday training courses (additional charges). Our two day Performance Courses for Juniors are always well attended. Run by Ian Jennings and GHC 1st XI players, these courses will really improve your player's skills. Our next course will be during the October Half-Term. Look out for the flyer and form soon.

  • All training is held at Broadwater School, the majority on a Friday evening with older children on Saturday evening, Sunday morning and Monday evening. For detailed times see below:
