We had two glorious days of weather for what was a big weekend at Guildford Hockey Club. Saturday saw Open Days for both the Ladies’ and Men’s Sections with about 15 potential new members enjoying skills and games with the more ‘established’ members of the Club. Some of the older Juniors also took part and it’s great to see the Club coming together on a day like this.
The Men 1st XI were in action training and playing friendlies on both weekend days, working hard ahead of the start of their league matches. Not to mention the Ladies whose preparations are also underway.
Saturday brought 100 Junior players and their parents to the Club to hand in their forms, do some drills and play some games. We had plenty of players who are new to GHC and new to hockey - we welcome you! Thank you to all who have made an effort to hand in forms and payments ahead of the season start we would rather focus on playing and organising hockey, but forms and payments are part of it so thank you for helping make chasing them up easier.
Looking forward to the coming weekend’s activities: the start of the Junior training sessions on Friday and Saturday evening and a weekend full of friendly matches and training in the run-up to the first league match of the season on the 21st September. You can see all of this season’s fixtures at WHAT’S ON. |
