2015-03-183-200Our Under 12 B team strode into the Surrey Cup full of optimism and confidence, they were determined to test themselves against the best U12 Girl teams in Surrey...

2015-02-28 11-200A few days before Christmas an email came in through the website from a Dutch coach looking for some games for his Under 12 and Under 14 Girls teams. Two months later, we were entertaining 40 Dutch visitors...

A very postive match report, once again, from the Under 10 Girls peppered with words like enthusiac, graciously, satisfying. And some lessons learned - have a read to see what they are...

For the first time at GU10 level we welcomed Oxford to GHC, along with our old friends and regular opponents Haslemere.  With the County championships only a month away, all clubs were keen to get in some good practice.  The Guildford GU10s again did themselves proud with 7 wins out of 8 matches, scoring 18 goals and not letting in any.

Our GU10s welcomed 4 Teddington teams to GHC today, and for once it was neither raining nor freezing cold.  A beautiful day for playing hockey, and our GU10s duly delivered.  What was particularly pleasing was that the good results went right through our teams and everyone had some taste of success...

Both Epsom and Old Cranleighan’s brought to 2 teams to a sunny and warm Sunday at GHC. Guildford proudly presented 3 decent teams to play against the opposition...

In lovely warm sunshine and in front of a crowded balcony area, the U14 boys stepped out to play their final match in the England Hockey Championships Tier 1 East League 2 against Haslemere. Both sides had won all of their games and were already through to the 'Tier 2' Regionals in April. The Guildford boys had not conceded a goal in the Cup so far. Could they keep up that record and grab the top spot in the league?

Hats off to the GHC Under 12 Girls Squad Management for organising and running what was a marathon of matches all day on our Sand-based pitch. There were Under 12 Girls in action from 9am to 3pm with 13 teams playing a total of 33 matches!

In the deep midwinter, the frosty winds made moan.

But the astroturf's not frozen

So sweet, strong goals are chosen:

And boys smile on their way home.

We got to the club early to watch a bit of Andy Murray and the Mens’ 1st team in action for some pre-match inspiration.  It seemed to do the trick.  Our 2 teams of GU10s netted 34 goals against East Grinstead without conceding a single one.  Read on for the highlights….
