The Under 12 boys played in a tournament against Surbiton and Old Georgions Dragons, with three wins, a draw and...

On a day like today, it was handy to have a team called the "Flames".   It seems we were the only team who managed to beat the cold and icy conditions.  A thank you first of all to the coaches and 2 dads who got stuck in clearing the pitch of the previous night's snow using the novel implement of a hockey goal.  I don't think it will catch on, but it certainly warmed us up...

20160117-88 200To whoops of delight and general enthusiasm, the match against Surbiton was on - the coaches couldn't hold in their excitement and relief, given the cancellations over the frost/snow and general manic workload to ensure the girls got some hockey!! I'm sure the girls were happy also...

BU12TeamAtMarlow 200Eight eager, young boys braved the overnight snow to travel up to Marlow for this invitational friendly. It was great to see some new faces play together for the first time and the team had a very good run around...

20160117-255 200The cold did nothing to keep the Under 16 Boys away from a pitch today. Thanks to Surbiton for having cleared the snow off their main pitch early in the morning so that by mid-day it was perfectly fine. A bit cold on the fingers but plenty of running kept the boys warm...

Gazelles-10jan16-200Four under 10 Girls teams played in the bright sunshine at Old Cranleighans (OC) last Sunday, matched up against their equivalent sides at OC. Great results with 11 wins, 2 draws and only 3 games lost. A great turn-out for the GU10 with almost 30 girls playing - a big thank you parents for such a strong showing at an away fixture...

Following the GHC Men's First team onto the Water on Sunday was a highly trained elite group of Guildford U14 athletes...

Under8Group-200The Under 8s had an enjoyable day out at Barnes. For some, their first taste of tournament hockey. They had a great day and learned a lot. What more can you ask for?

Torrential, horizontally crashing down rain and 8 degrees. THIS is what we have been missing so far this hockey season. It's been altogether much too mild and dry until now! The GHC Under 18s were invited to play against Charterhouse 2s as part of their pre-season programme. Alas, the 18s were all busy with their own school preparations as were the bigger and stronger U16s. So the GHC U15s accepted the challenge on the Sunday before school started...

After a run of great results the GU12 Shadows headed to the Surbiton, Tony Smith, expecting a testing day against potentially strong U13 sides...
