2015-11-3174-200Cardiff & Met came to visit on Sunday to witness a stunning performance from our Men's 1st XI who kept the score at 0-0 for more than thirty minutes and then opened the scoring through Luke Saunders just before the break. Cardiff equalised halfway through the second half on one of their many short corner opportunities. And then what may end up being the goal of the season happened two minutes to the end. See some highlights here...

The Gondoliers were well up for this local derby and the mood in the dressing room before the game was energetic, not just because of last weeks successful team dinner but also because Brent declared that a win would put us to the top of the league....

It was a chilly afternoon with a bitter wind sweeping across Broadwater so it was a brave decision by the Shadows to retreat to the warmth of the dressing room prior to push back. Following the usual inspirational talk from Tom Lyne and a quick warm up, the Shadows took to the stage...

The match against Winchester heralded the first true winter match where, despite the sunshine, there was a real bite of cold in the air which brought with it a certain iciness to the pitch.  But the condition of the pitch was not the first challenge the Gondoliers had to face...

2015-11-1118-200Have a look at action from Sunday's match against Team Bath Buccaneers in the Men's Hockey League Conference West. Guildford wanted it more and came away with 3 goals for their 1. GHC having gone ahead early on, Bath equalised halfway through the second half which served to strengthen GHC's resolve. Great team effort!

We had a strong squad of 15 as we needed to be on top of our game if we weren’t going to be humiliated by the League Leaders Oxford Hawks...

With a squad of 10 (no goalie) the Gondoliers had a foreboding about this game. So it was a pleasant surprise when we picked up a Southampton goalie from the previous game...

2015-10-719-200The Men’s 2nd XI unveiled their new Young Ones shirts on Saturday under rainy skies in Reading. A huge thanks to Colin Stuart of Baker Stuart for sponsoring the shirts – they look superb! And what a great way to inaugurate the shirts by scoring four goals...

As the saying goes, we snatched victory from the jaws of defeat....

It was indeed a hard fought game keenly contested by both sides...
