In GHC's first ever junior indoor event, we entered the South Region Indoor Finals where we would be up against eleven strong clubs' Under 16 boys teams. With no competitive experience we weren't sure how we would fit in and it was difficult to find time to train in between the Barcelona tour, schools indoor events and everything going on in busy U16s lives. But coach Rob Field was confident and got the very best out of our boys...

Proud member, life Vice President and supporter of Guildford Hockey Club, Roland de Rebello died on 7th December at the Surrey Couny Hospital. He will be missed by many - his support of GHC will be remembered forever...

There is a new weekly newspaper in England and Wales completely dedicated to hockey! It's called The Hockey Paper and the first issue went to print 16th November. It's available at newsagents and supermarkets for £1.50. Look for this week's edition (out 7th December) to see a feature on GHC!

We are pleased to announce that tickets are now available for the Guildford Hockey Club Annual Christmas Party 2016!  The party is being held at the club on Saturday 10th December from 19:00. Tickets costs £20 per person and must be purchased in advance - see below for details and to book...

Sadly one of the stalwarts of GHC  in the last century passed away in October. Peter Methley was the hard hitting, they shall not pass, full back for the first XI in the 1960s.

Guildford Juniors were treated to a fantastic half-term camp. Dan Fox organised the coaches and content for us and Martin Robbins of Holcbombe HC expertly directed and organised the first two days with teammate Tom Moore. GB Internationals Zoe Shipperley, Ian Sloan and Harry Gibson were all there, too, ...

This week is Women's Sport Week 2016 and here at GHC we take a lookg at five junior players currently playing with our Ladies 1^st XI. The five have progressed through the Guildford U14s, U16s and 18’s, and have played with the ladies 3’s and 2’s, improving season upon season to now be playing for our 1st team. Some have also nicely progressed through the EH Single System (now called the Player Pathway) from county to regional level. GHC kicked off the season in good form with two days of #HockeyFest. The Men and Ladies had a few matches and some fun sessions on Saturday 3rd September. The Junior coaches had an 'inset' morning including a really interesting coaching session with Dan Fox. And then the Juniors took over the pitches for some games...

GHC Ladies used their Wednesday evening training session to good effect this week. The Ladies 1s played a friendly match against Woking at Charterhouse. And the rest of the Ladies had a series of 7-a-side games at Broadwater incorporating some new players, some visiting players and also some Juniors who hadn't yet played Adult hockey. A great evening for GHC Ladies!

We are thrilled to say the first wave of Club kit is on its way. Hawkinsport will be at the GHC clubhouse with shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies ... and also with their heat transfer number and letter press! They will also have a wide range of sticks, shoes and hockey equipment to get everyone ready for the season...
