On the 1st of October the Mens Shadows played the Royal Holloways 1st XI. With the weather against us (heavy rain), the game kicked off to a flyer with the Shadows dominating possession and creating chances all over the place but failing to find the back of the goal...

After the warm up game against the 4th Eleven last week it was time for the first League game. Were we ready, those that had been going to “Training” felt they were. Twas chilly, and the morpy Gondos

Did skyre and dimble on the turf;

All missy was the stickletack,

And the pinshad outheeled...

Chris Basey took the captaincy in the absence of Tom Carney and went with the 2/4/4 combo that was so successful against Oxford last week. Howells and Sturgess up front, Kuhle, Mullins, Regan and Belshaw in midfield with Windsor Lewis, Savage, Tonks and Toplas in defence. Kindly Josh joined the Gondoliers for his second appearance in goal...

The match report this weeks comes from our Court correspondent, as our normal trainee overseas war correspondent is taking a rest whilst analysing the various permutations of league positions...
