The GHC Men’s 1s were reminded yet again on Saturday that there are no easy games in this league.
We made a poor start to the game against a fighting Tunbridge Wells side but somehow made a 2-0 lead through Tylo Remke and Chas Richardson. Unfortunately, Luke Rodgers picked up a nasty ankle injury and Joel Cant hurt his back just before half time.
Losing two defenders at once with no cover off the bench, left us exposed to some slick attacking from Tunbridge Wells. All credit to the Kent side who only had three chances and took them. It was Guildford who were left wanting over the dozen clear cut chances we couldn’t put away. But that’s not the end of the story, some determined play and hard work saw us steal a point in the last play of the game, ending it 3 apiece.
Tylo Remke and Dan Fox are connecting well through the midfield and it was good to have Jason Ellis Woodley leading the line again after two weeks away due to work commitments.
The M1’s take on Oxford University on Saturday afternoon starting at Broadwater, starting at 16:30.
