Ladies 1s in Win Possession but Lose 0-1

 30th Nov 2019

20191130-L1-2-660A cold and frosty pitch welcomed the teams on Saturday for the mid table clash against Spencer Ladies 1s.

Guildford took the game to Spencer and spent a lot of time in their half. The opposition struggled to negotiate the Guildford press which proved very effective.

Spencer tried to counter but Guildford’s defence and midfield held strong and created attacking opportunities. Frustratingly whilst having the superior possession Guildford could not find the net. At half time the score was 0-0.

The second half continue in the same manner as the first and if felt like only be a matter of time before the home team would score. However, as in the first half, whilst having the greater possession, Guildford could not find the net.

Unfortunately inevitability crept in and 10 minutes from the end of the game Spencer counter attacked and forced a penalty corner from which they scored. 1-0 was the final score.
