What could be a valuable point for the Mens’ 1s season came against a tenacious and hardworking West Hampstead team.
Ross Fergusson put us ahead early on before West Hampstead equalised, then, surprise surprise, Ross Fergusson put us ahead again before we conceded another.
At 2-2, it had the feeling of an open game with loads of goals, with one team running away with it. This was not the case, it remained 2-2 with Guildford having the majority of the chances, with no conversions.
West Hampstead were excellent hosts, they worked hard and played the game in the right spirit. The West Hampstead goalkeeper made excellent saves, but there were also a few half chances for the hosts to take all three points. We should be grateful for the point on the road and be ready to get back to our winning ways in the weeks ahead.
Next fixture is at the home of Guildford Hockey on Saturday against Wycombe HC, push back at 3pm. Come and support!
