Ladies' 6s Lose to Experienced Old Georgians Team

 2nd Nov 2019

We faced a strong OG's team, well organised and experienced.

Rosie lasted just over 5 minutes before an unfortunate slip by the OG's player meant her stick came through and caught Rosie. Sadly that was a hospital trip and some stitches for a cut to her cheek.

Eve stepped into centre mid and played the rest of the game looking very comfortable!

Tash H and Juliet added to the midfield with lots of tackling, and passing under a lot of pressure.

Defence held firm - most of the time! OG's put us all on the back foot, but Alice, Hollie, Sabrina and Helena stuck to the task.

We weathered several short corners in the second half but eventually the OG's pressure allowed them to score . We needed to mark players tightly so they were not able to get their shots off - but so many of our opponents had cracking hits!

Louisa made numerous good saves, clearing the ball wide.

Cathy, Becks Kitty and Leanna battled hard up front and we did create several chances with two goaline clearances late on.

Final score 0:5 - but lots of good experience gained from playing such a strong team. OG's next team are six divisions higher in Div 6 - that might explain why some of their players were just a bit too good for us.
