20190921-Ladies1s-TeamFrustrating Trip to Tulse Hill & Dulwich

The Ladies' 1s travelled to Dulwich College for their latest league encounter...

With Shay away “working” in Dubai the team had a training session with Dan Fox early in the week and another lead by team captain Libby; the team were keen to put some different ideas into practice. Tulse Hill and Dulwich are in second place in the league so it was to be a challenging game.

The start was very bright for the Guildford team who dominated the play from the word go and it was not long before they created an opportunity that resulted in a penalty corner. This was converted by Kelly Taylor. Guildford continued to dominate the game and for a while the opposition had no answer to the Guildford attack. One attack saw Kelly scoring her second.

From the re-start Tulse Hill and Dulwich started to get into the game and slowly but surely created opportunities. One pass into the D was picked by a Tulse Hill player who scored a bizarre goal. The momentum had swung and it was not long before they equalised.

Then just as it looked as if it was going to play out to a draw Tulse Hill were awarded a P flick, which they converted. The final score was 3-2.

Man of the match, joint: Kelly Taylor and Julia “JJ” Blackstock
