Sunday the 28th of September the girls U14A from Guildford took on Marlow in our first Premier League match of the season.
Following a valuable, high tempo, warm-up game provided by the BU14 on Friday (thanks to the boys and parents for providing that opportunity), the game started off with some good intent from the Guildford girls creating some good attacking opportunities down the right hand channel, getting 6 circle entires in the first 8 minutes of the game.
With this constant pressure on the Marlow defence we spoke broke through to go 1-0 up courtesy of a well taken short corner.
The game evened out a bit for a good couple of minutes and we went into the half time break 1-0 up with the Guildford girls playing some attractive and attacking hockey.
The second half started off slow for us and we struggled to find some good connections out there. But that was soon to be forgotten as the girls stepped up into top gear with a cracking goal from Darcy who put us up 2-0, the girls then put on an incredible display of hockey linking up on the outside, creating 2v1s and this eventually led to our third goal to give us a 3-0 win.
