Guildford started in attacking style and within the first 5 minutes Alice O’Hagan opened the scoring to give Guildford the lead. The game continued with Guildford having most of the possession, but, Oxford were dangerous when they broke. They won a raft of short corners, but the Guildford defence remained strong and the score remained 1-0 at half time.
Oxford started strongly in the second half, but Guildford held firm and a break found us a short corner. Anja Atkin converted to extend the lead. Due to a number of questionable cards, Guildford then played for a while with ten players; but the team's strength and character ensured that Oxford really posed little threat. With 3 minutes to play Alice O’Hagan scored her second goal of the game. Final result 3-0.
The win guarantees Guildofrd as South 2 League Champions with one game still to play. The team's promotion to the South 1 League was already confiremd last weekend - the team are looking forward to playing in the top regional league next season.
