Guildford started the game in an attacking mood and within a few minutes had won a short corner. The shot was saved by the keeper, but Anja Atkin forced the rebound in to the net, giving Guildford the early lead.

Guildford continued to attack, but Sonning took advantage of some breaks and created a number of opportunities that were thwarted by Alice O’Hagan who held the back of defence very well. The last 10 minutes of the first half saw Guildford take two quick breaks with Kelly Taylor finding the net twice. Sonning had a short corner in the final minutes of the half and they found the net with a deflection.

Guildford started the second half 3-1 up, but Sonning were awarded a short corner and they brought the score back to 3-2. The game became quite tense at this point, but Guildford were creating more opportunities and with just over 5 minutes to play Emma Haynes found the net to give a two goal advantage. Sonning were just about to replace their keeper with a kicking back but Guildford won another short corner. Alice O’Hagan successfully converted taking the final score to 5-2.

The semi finals take place at Lee Valley on the 31st March with Guildford facing East London and Loughborough Students v Loughborough Town.
