GU10 Storm are back to winning ways!

 3rd Mar 2019

20190303-GU10-StormGuildford U10’s “Storm” arrived for our tournament at Charterhouse in the pouring rain; the girls warmed up and prepared to get back into our winning ways!

Team: Niamh A, Hannah B, Issy K, Mimi S, Emily T, Martha W, Issy H, Grace H.

Played 4: Won 3, Drew 1

v Cheam: Won 6-0

Getting off the a good start in our first match the goals quickly came, some wonderful passing from Martha W and Issy H and quick ball from Grace H ensured a sound win setting us up for the tournament, Niamh unstoppable in the opposition “D.”

v Epson 2: Drew 1-1

The second game proved to be tougher but Mimi and Issy K defended well and Emily made some good saves to ensure we kept in the game.

v Epson 1: Won 1-0

Game three and the rain didn’t dampen our spirits as the girls set about moving the ball out wide for Hannah B to drive into the “D” and put us ahead. A tense short corner saw Martha W run out hard only to take a lifted ball on the knee, bravely she went out for some ice and the game finished 1-0.

v Merton: Won 2-0

In the  final game the girls fought hard and everyone tacked well, although we were 2-0 up Emily made a great save in the fading seconds and Mimi pushed it out wide, ensuring another clean sheet.

Well done team, you should be very proud of your hard work and team spirit today and a huge thanks to the parents on the sidelines who supported the team and cheered them on.  Hopefully all have dried out and see you Friday for training.
