After a long Christmas break, the Shadows came ready to start the second half of season more positively than they did at the first half of the season...
The first half started with the Shadows conceding 3 short corners in a row. But with Lewis on form and the defence half awake, we managed to hold back the opposition. The Shadows had several chances in the first half, but poor fatty Tim couldn’t convert them into goals. The first half continued in similar manner, and there was some relief when the whistle went given the Christmas break was catching up with the team.
In the words of Jane Fuller, watching from the sidelines, "the second half was a long one". The Shadows tried to continue to pass the ball to each other to produce more attacks (apart from mickey), but many of these were broken down. It was a scrappy second half; one which many of the Shadows defence may have dragged on with constant clearances, some even off the goal from Lewis and Tom.
Overall a clean sheet and a point after a busy Xmas for many.
