 All in all a great day out after Xmas for the u12s against a development Trojans team. The whole squad was committed and worked hard to pass the ball and connect with each other across the park...
Many goals came throughout the game with lots of width in attack seeing Annabelle and Amelie scoring after good build up. Caitlyn worked hard up front and Immo and Evie A were always a threat out wide. The midfield did well to hassle the Trojans side and our press mean the opposition struggled to get into our half leaving Anouk unemployed in goal. The midfield saw Evie A, Beth, Susannah and others keep the tempo of the game on and after a slow start moved the ball swiftly on to another player ahead of them.
We rotated all the girls and some tried new positions for them which is great for their all round development. In the second third, goals followed from Evie S after a great pass from Tallulah. Then a flowing move with multiple passes ended up with Annabelle scrambling home a goal.
For the final 3rd the girls played as if it was 0-0 and worked super hard to keep up the momentum. Charlotte, Martha, Tilly and Jemima were solid at the back and stopped any attacks that broke through the midfield screen. Several goals followed with one from Annabel and then Caitlyn scored after a good pass and run down the wing from Molly.
Another great passing move from the back from Suzannah to Charlotte and.then up to Caitlyn and Evie S finished far post. A great team goal. A few more goals concluded the game but what was most pleasing was the passing and workrate from the girls.
Then a great cross from Caitlyn and solid finish from Annabelle.
A good start after Xmas and great to see the girls enjoying themselves with some flowing hockey.
