Winter had arrived in Esher with a frozen pitch to greet the girls on arrival. But the girls warmed up well and were prepared to do their best against a decent Old Cranleighans side.
We started brightly and earned several short corner with Isla connecting with Liza and Martha to force the defenders into errors. From the second short corner Isla scored.
Across the backline we were solid with Katie and Holly in the middle and Issy, Evie A and Gemma playing out wide. Katie slapped a great pass to Ella who found Liza to increase the score line. During the game all the girls tried to get some width on the game to outflank the opposition.
Eliza, Isla, Caitlyn and Ella worked hard in midfield and linking well with Liza, Martha, Amelie and Evie S up front. A third goal came after a well worked short corner and finished by Isla
Before the break we then saw a sweeping move release Martha R who finished low and left to beat the keeper.
The second half saw the squad keep running hard and Old Cranleighans threatened to score a few times with Grace making some good saves and the defence close out any chances for the opposition.
We shifted around positions in the second half and Katie found herself at centre forward scoring our 5th goal. Final goal came from Liza.
All in all a strong performance with decent passing and great working for each other from all the girls.
