Under 10 Girls Fire, Storm and Hurricane were out at Surbiton on Sunday for some super games of hockey. Good learning from a fun day out...
Guildford Fire
Guildford Fire did well on Sunday against some strong Surbiton teams. We won 4 matches and lost 2. The 2 losses were mainly due to just a small flurry of good play from the opposition and our defense not in the right place, not switched on enough. Generally there was some excellent team play with the ball switching from side to side. The girls enjoyed it. Fabulous to have a Beth in goal on her debut.
The games went like this
- 1-0 Win
- 3-2 win
- 1-4 loss
- 1-4 loss
- 3-0 win
- 1-0 win

Guildford Storm
Storm did well today, although half our players weren’t around we had great help from some of the Hurricane girls who stepped in for the fixture. The results weren’t great as we lost 0-2. 4-3 to fellow Guildford Fire, 0-1, 0-1 and drew 0-0 against very strong well organised Surbiton teams.
But despite the results the girls work really hard in defence and although some great runs couldn’t ended in goals, the effort was outstanding. Every girl got involved and worked well as a team mate supporting each other. A few things to work on training but a great experience for our girls. Well done everyone involved!

Guildford Hurricane
With 6 games Vs Surbiton ahead of us Hurricanes arrived ready to go, and go they did into an early win with some fearless defence work form Cara and Mimi. This hard work continued into game 2 and 3 with the whole team working together, passing, takling and taking the free hits with real purpose and speed... training is working!
Joshie was working hard in the midfield which Jessica maximised in getting ball through to Isobel and Jasmine to ensure Hurricanes finished game 4 still unbeaten.
Lexi in the defence came under pressure and as usual tackled and worked hard in game 5, but unfortunately our unbeaten run came to an end. At the start of final game the team were still upbeat and with a few missed chances Hurricanes finished with a draw, not with the run of play.
- Game 1. w 2-1
- Game 2. W 3-0
- Game 3. W1-0
- Game 4. W3-0
- Game 5. L 0-3
