On Sunday the BU10s played in the Teddington Xmas Invitational Tournament, which was rearranged from December due to bad weather.
The boys won their two group matches against Richmond and Teddington showing some lovely flowing hockey, whilst pressing their opponents hard.
In the quarter final they played the other Teddington team and again won well 4-0. The next match was against a well organised Spencer team and the boys put in another strong display, winning 3-0, with a couple of crucial goals from Alex J.
The final was played against a strong and competitive Dragons (Old Georgians) team. It was a fast and furious match, great end to end hockey. After Guildford took an early lead, Dragons pushed forward hard, but the defence remained resolute and Seb W made a string of wonderful saves in goal. A second goal for Guildford after a beautiful move down the right wing gave us a little breathing space and we ran out 2-0 winners.
Well done to all the boys. Goal scorers included Matt H, Henrik W, Ollie G, Alex J, and Toby T. Particular credit to Fraser K and Ralph E who defended well and with the help of Daniel C and Seb W, the team did not concede a goal in the tournament.
Thank you also to all the parents for their support on a cold January afternoon.
