Under 8s Big Cats out for some Game Play

 3rd Dec 2017

20171203-U8TigersThe Under 8s stable of big cats was out in action again this week (must be a GHC record) with the Leopards, Pumas, Tigers and Lions playing matches against Camberley and Farnborough and Epsom

The Pumas had a great morning. Great passes, skills and determination resulted in drawing 2 games against Epsom teams and winning against C&F teams. Six great goals which were produced as a team effort, fantastic work!

And we didn’t concede any goals as the defence worked very hard. A very enjoyable fixture for the children and spectators. Well done Pumas!

Team Pumas: Will, Matilda, Elliot, Harriet, Martha,  Jasmine, Ned &  Joshie.

Played 4, won 4. A really great team effort on Sunday morning. Learning to stay in their positions and moving the ball quickly into wide areas delivered some fantastic moves and goals. Well done all and only conceding one goal all morning! Keep practising those skills!

Team Leopards: Bea D, Keagan T, Arthur W, Alice K, Elodie J, Shawn M, Luca P-W, Orla R

The U8 Tigers had a brilliant morning at the triangular against Camberley & Farnborough and Epsom on Sunday winning two of their games and narrowly missing out to two tough Epsom teams. There was some great attacking play at the front from Isobel, Maes and Arthur - and a well earned goal from Sophia in her debut match!

Grace and Izzy both put in super strong performances in midfield and Taeke and Oliver were unstoppable in defence. There was some super teamwork and they should all be very proud of their performances.

Despite the slightly damp and chilly Sunday morning the Lions kept themselves warm by playing with pride and passion - their hard work at training was clearly evident with everyone contributing to the team effort. The team passed the ball well, worked to move into space to create opportunities and communicated well to call for the ball when free!

There was some resolute defending when needed and strong attacking play combined with midfield dominance led to the lions winning 3 of their games and drawing the other with zero goals conceded - very well done to all.  The Lions were certainly Roaring today!

Results: 0-0, 3-0, 2-0, 2-0

Team Lions: Charlie, Lexi, Jonny, Nicholas, Millie, Archie, Thomas, Joep, Sophia
