 The boys played amazingly through out the tournament and worked really well as a team together supporting each other through the matches. The team played well as a unit with very strong attacking and midfield players, defenders who worked well together not allowing many attackers through, and even Fynn our goalie had some action and saved some great shots from the opposition.
The boys started off very strong against Surbiton, winning 3 - 1 (Goals scored by Connor, Ben and Sammy D). We even had coaches and parents from other teams complementing the skills of our team and the quality of play, which was a huge compliment.
The second match in our pool we won against Oxted 1 - 0 (Goal scored by Ben).
The third match in our pool we won against Old Kings 4 - 0 (Goals scored by Connor, Sammy, Ben, Toby).
The fourth match we won against Cheam 3 - 1 ( Goals scored by Toby, Sammy, Connor).
In our last pool match we won against Epsom 4 - 0 (Goals scored by Ben (hat trick !!), Connor).
We came 1st in our pool and went on to play Spencer in the semi final. Unfortunately, the boys were tired and, with a little breakdown in play, let the opposition score with only 4 minutes left in the match. We ending up losing to Spencer 1 - 0.
We went on to play for third place against Wimbledon and won against them 2 -1 (Connor scoring both goals). Well done boys!!
