The culmination of season for the Storm team was playing in the Surrey Cup B competition, new this year for those teams not competing for progression to South Finals (Cup A), but who are looking for a strong end of season tournament (separate to the Surrey Plate competition).
On one hand it was a huge disappointment to lose the 3rd place play off in a sudden death penalty flick...
But on the other hand, the girls had given a huge performance all day and the coaches couldn't have asked for more as they worked for each other and the team - Brilliantly.
The coaching team are extremely proud of their efforts and commitment; it simply wasn't Storm's day for goals, hitting posts, missing chances and being caught out by goals against the run of play.
Pool games - 1W, 1D, 1L
Storm won their group beating Surbiton B's 1-0 and drawing with OC's 0-0 (OC's A team - who played in the B Cup, not the A cup). Storm then lost a really tight game against Wimbledon 1-0, however, they could have been 4 up.
Great games for all, with a special mention for the goal by Jasmine after Eliza's run sinking Surbiton as the highlight.
Bronze medal match drawn
The girls then drew 0-0 with OC's again in the 3rd place play off, 2-2 in flicks after 3 and then losing on the second sudden death flick.
Massive shout out to the team, for their improvements all season, their skill level and most of all their enjoyment of the game and the sessions - Go Greens !
Superstars @Amelia,@Caitlin,@Eliza,@Evelyn,@Holly,@Izzy,@Jasmine,@Lexi.
