The Ladies 1st XI welcomed Teddington to Broadwater for their 3rd round clash in the England Hockey Tier 2 Championships...
Teddington were fresh from some good performances in the league and a desire to get revenge over Guildford for the 7-1 drumming they received in January. The visitors had the upper hand in the opening minutes and were the first to score. 0-1.
Guildford fought back and in the 15th minute equalised with a well worked goal from Kerryn Swanepoel. However, Teddington appeared more hungry for the game and they scored twice more in the first half. 1-3.
The Guildford ladies came out in the second half with a greater desire and in the 62nd minute Guildford won a penalty corner. Kerryn converted to narrow the deficit. 2-3.
Guildford continued to attack and 5 minutes later a pass from Harriet to Kerryn allowed her into the Teddington D and she converted to equalise. 3-3.
With the scores level at full time the game went to flicks which Guildford won 2-1, with goals from Kerryn and Maddie Richardson.
Guildford now host Wapping in the 4th round: 2pm the 15th March - mark your calendars and come and support!
