Sadly one of the stalwarts of GHC in the last century passed away in October. Peter Methley was the hard hitting, they shall not pass, full back for the first XI in the 1960s.
Having learnt his hockey at Parkside, along with a number of the 1960s team, he contributed strongly to the club's successes over the years. He was elected a vice-president in 1982.
Peter was a larger than life character who made things happen both on the pitch and in the clubhouse. He and Marianne were ever present at the annual dances. He will also be remembered for his generosity towards various club members.
Away from the club, Peter had a full and exciting life in the Insurance world and on the golf course.
Peter will be sorely missed by his friends from yesteryear.
