Welcome!
Guildford Hockey Club offers fun, competitive hockey for players at every level. Training with outstanding coaches takes place on weekday evenings and matches run each Saturday from September to April.
This season we are running 7 league teams - including our 1st XI competing in the England Hockey Conference East - and 3 Masters teams!
We also offer Back2Hockey sessions on Friday evenings, mixed hockey on Sundays and chances to play as a family during the regular season and throughout the summer.
Clubhouse and Pitches
Our Clubhouse is located behind Broadwater School - GU7 3BW - where we have access to two newly re-laid pitches and are building a practice/warm-up area.
We also use Charterhouse - GU7 2RS - where we have access to two excellent quality pitches.
After each home game we invite our opposition and umpires to join us in the clubhouse for a hot meal and a cup of tea or a beverage (or two!) from the bar.
This season we look forward to being part of the new England Hockey South East Area - the green dsection on the New Area Map below.

While it is hoped that players in all teams are available every weekend it is acknowledged that this is not always possible and so teams operate a pool system, sharing players when necessary/beneficial. Our subscription and match fee system works to provide value for all - please see details here.
All members have the opportunity to train and improve. Training evenings take place on Tuesdays (1st squad) and Thursday (1st/2nd squad), and Wednesdays (all other teams). We provide excellent coaching at every level. We also offer Summer Hockey and other playing opportunities on an ad hoc basis.
We have a proud record of success at Guildford Hockey Club, which combined with our outstanding facilities, lively social scene, and forward-looking management set-up, provides an attractive experience; as we like to say: "a Great Place to Play"!

England Hockey implemented a new Game Management System (GMS) in 2021 to replace dozens of other platforms previously in use across England. New Leagues in 2021- South East Area
South East is one of 8 Areas set up in 2021 and goverened by England Hockey.
West is one of two Sub-Areas of the South East league, the other is East.
Oaks is one of three Sub-Areas, the other two are Martlets and Invicta. These correspond roughly to the previous Surrey, Sussex and Kent county areas.
After several promotions during the inaugural season of the new EH structure, our men now play in the following leagues:
- Our Men's 1st XI play in the England Hockey Men's Conference East.
- The South East league sits below the England Hockey leagues. Our Men's 2s play in the SE Div 1 West.
- And there are three Sub-Areas called Oaks, Martlets and Invicta. GHC play in the Men's Oaks Leagues, divisions 1, 2 4 and 6.
We also have Masters O40s (Pilgrims) who play in the South O40s Premier Division, our Masters O50s (Gladiators) who play in the London Masters league Div 1 and our Masters O60s (Gondoliers) who are part of the Wessex Supervets Fixtures Alliance.
