The Ladies’ Back to Hockey programme at Guildford has continued to grow and thrive this season, with 15-20 players coming along for fun and skills every Monday evening...
We would like to say an enormous thank you to our coach Matthew Rees, who is stepping down after nearly four fantastic seasons. Mat’s coaching has been absolutely superb and he has exactly understood the balance of encouragement, humour, and engaging games and drills needed to stretch the group whilst ensuring everyone had a great time. Mat has been brilliant in helping give beginners a great start in the sport, with over half a dozen players having now ‘graduated’ from b2h and playing regularly for the L4s.
We’d also like to thank Connor M from our Junior section who has helped out regularly on a Monday evening this season, supporting Mat and enabling the squad to work more effectively in smaller groups. Thanks too to others including Tom G who’ve helped out when available – your support is appreciated!
Whilst the regular season is now over, ladies’ back to hockey continues from April 24th until the end of June, so if you fancy giving hockey a whirl or if you fancy getting back to it after a break, now is a great time to give it a go! Sessions cost £5 on a drop-in basis and run from 8pm till 9.30pm on a Monday evening.
We’re also now on the lookout for a new coach for our really friendly and enthusiastic group from September – please do think about supporting those coming back to hockey or starting out – it’s really rewarding!
