 This week GHC launches a very special programme for players wishing to succeed in the England Hockey Player Pathway.
The programme is designed by our Director of Junior Coaching, Dan Fox and will be led by GHC M1s player Tylo Remke with international stars Beckie Middleton and Tom Carson coaching and guest appearances by GHC L1s Coach Shay O'Connell and BU16 Coach Rob Field.
In Dan's words, "The GHC Summer Performance programme is an opportunity to bridge the gap between Club Hockey and Academy Centre, Performance Centre and Futures Cup Hockey. We want everyone taking part in the programme to be able to fulfil their potential and desires whether that is as a Guildford HC player or as a county, regional or international player in the future".
So far we have almost 100 players signed up for the programme and will continue to build on the principles of the EH Golden Thread with all of our players.
A few massive thanks are in order in addition to Dan and Tylo who have agreed the session content, Robert Manning has done a super job of grinding through the detail and feedback from coaches and parents as to the who, how and when of the programme - this would not have happened without him. And also a huge thanks to Cathy Sanderson who cleared her desk for two days almost non-stop to produce with care and attention a player pamphlet of information to aid the players' learning. This will soon be on the GHC website so all can see.
