 GHC Ladies Over 40's took part in the South Vets tournament yesterday at Woking. Twelve teams took part from across the South including plenty of top notch former players!
We played five pool matches, winning three and drawing two. This put us into a semi-final that we won to face Brighton and Hove in the Final!
A close match and we nearly won in regulation time - the ball was saved off the line twice and one of those saves looked suspiciously like a foot. It happens. Brighton and Hove had some chances, too, but luckily our brilliant goalie made some amazing saves!
So it was 0-0 at the end of time so we had to go to penalty strokes.
Unfortunately we lost the penalty shoot out but still managed to bring home Silver medals!!
It was a great day and we all loved it. We did Guildford proud!
