GHC are really pleased to be hosting the Mercian Junior Hockey League Finals Day 2017!
Mercian are proud sponsors of the boys league which provides excellent opportunities for club hockey matches to thousands of players from Oxford to Canterbury, Fareham to Braintree. No doubt the strongest boys league in the country, much of the league's success is thanks to the tireless efforts of long time Mercian League Board member and Under 16 Boys League Manager, Jeremy Holt.
Jeremy does an amazing job - he really works hard to make sure that the league is progressing with the FIH and EH changes to the game and to make sure that all leagues are balanced and all teams and clubs are playing matches in good spirit and with good quality.
Jeremy has been supported in recent years by Amanda McAllister who has run the Under 14 Boys Leagues for the past two seasons. The largest of the age groups, Amanda looks after 16 leagues incorporating well over 110 teams.
This season also saw the Boys U12s and U10s brought into the Mercian League umbrella, offering great leagues and leadership for even more boys' hockey. Well done to the League and many thanks to Jeremy and Amanda not only for running the leagues but also for organising what will no doubt prove to be a superb League Finals Day at GHC!
League Finals day includes the top four teams based on season results and play-offs from dozens of teams in each of the U14, U16 and U18 age groups. GHC have two teams in!
GHC BU18 play Epsom at 11:15 with finals at 15:00
GHC BU16 play Amersham and Chalfont at 13.45 with finals at 16:30
