The Mercian Junior Hockey League provides matches for boys from 67 clubs spreading from Oxford to Canterbury, Braintree to Fareham.
The 2016/17 season saw 201 Under 14, 16 and 18 teams competing in almost 750 matches in addition to a number of U12 teams.
Guildford have, for the third year running, scooped up the 'Top Club' award at this year's AGM. The Top Club is a complicated calculation of how well teams do across all leagues into which they are entered.
Guildford results over the past several years:
2017 - 1st
2016 - 1st
2015 - Joint 1st
2014 - 2nd
2013 - Joint 9th
2012 - Joint 9th
2011 - 14th
2010 - Joint 12th
2009 - 11th
2008 - Joint 15th
We have come a long way in a short space of time - three years ago we won this award jointly, last year by only a point or two and this year we were 15 points ahead of the 2nd placed team and more than 30 points ahead of third place.

Huge thanks to all of our helpers without whom the hockey doesn't happen! And well done to the boys who have done so well to train and play hard to get the results that helped us win this award!
Let's keep it up! Roll on 2017/18! |
